At Ruralmac, our top priority is keeping our users safe and happy. To make sure everyone is on board, we've established some rules and policies that we expect all of our users to follow. We discuss the basic etiquette that users are expected to follow, the safety measures, and the actions we will take to protect them if a problem arises.

1. Follow our rules and policies

We have two main sets of policies:

The Prohibited Conduct Policy - it's about ensuring that everyone on the platform is on their best behavior.

The Banned Ads Policy - which deals with the items and services that are allowed on Ruralmac.

Prohibited Conduct Policy

The Disallowed Behavior Policy describes the types of behavior that are not permitted on the platform. Here is a summary of some of the main prohibited conduct:

2. Good User Practices

The goal of user behavior standards is to create a positive and respectful community where everyone feels comfortable and safe. These are not reasons why we are going to kick you out of Ruralmac, but we do want all our users to take them into account:

Interact with education and respect

We love healthy debates and discussions here, but let's keep them respectful and civil. Everyone is welcome. Remember that each one brings different experiences, interests and knowledge. Please refrain from swearing, inciting hatred or attacking others when interacting with other users or Ruralmac support agents. It is not appropriate to target individuals with complaints about unpurchased items or pressure sellers or buyers into transactions. Let's create a positive and inclusive environment for all.

Communication is key

We know that sometimes things don't go as planned, and that's totally okay. If you change your mind about an offer, don't stress: let the seller know in a timely manner in a polite and respectful manner. That way, you can work with other buyers to find the perfect deal for your item or service.

If you have already agreed to sell your item to someone else, be sure to delete it.

Safety first

Stay safe in your interactions with others. Remember: The sale of items should only be done in person to avoid scams. Check out Ruralmac's Security Help Center page for some helpful tips.

Keep your ads up to date

It is important that you keep your listings up to date as much as possible. Be honest and accurate in item descriptions and prices, and be sure to add proof of authenticity whenever possible.

If you no longer have the item in stock or have changed your mind about the sale, be sure to update or delete the listing to avoid confusion.

Keep negotiations fair

Negotiating and haggling can be a lot of fun, but let's keep things fair. You don't want to cause frustration or appear rude or unprofessional by bidding too low on an ad. So let's keep things respectful and reasonable for everyone involved.
